Our advice?

Serve well chilled. Drink for life.

our story

The Jax Coco story began in Asia after four coconut water enthusiasts – Jane, Jason, Alex and Max – noticed that while there were plenty of young coconuts (and even more coconut water lovers), there didn’t seem to be any coconut water products packaged for easy consumption. In Asia, coconut water has traditionally been drunk straight from the nut.

Envisioning a product that could make coconut water more prevalent in an industry filled with sugary sodas and artificial beverages, the four coconut water devotees, who all incidentally had the letters J, A or X in their names, formed the Jax Team – a group with the intention to produce the freshest and best coconut water in Asia.

Since that time, the Jax Coco concept has expanded. In the process of creating Jax Coco, the Jax team wanted to create an international lifestyle brand that would transcend its Asian borders and look past the beaches and the palm trees that other brands propagate. The Jax team, heavily influenced by fashion, art and contemporary culture, wanted to present a re-interpretation of coconut water to the world that would feel modern and refreshing, and revitalize a simple ‘drink for life’ that has, for centuries, provided nutrition and hydration.

Jax Coco is the fruit of this process. Inspired by the crisp coconut water that it champions, Jax Coco unites the purest, premium micro-filtered coconut water with a tasteful, minimalist design. Whether at a bar, in the club, taken up the slopes, or shared amongst friends on a hot summer’s day, Jax Coco will deliver the best tasting and most refreshing coconut water in the world in a package that emanates virtuosity, simplicity and elegance

coconut faqs

1. What is coconut water?

Ans: Coconut water is the refreshing, clear liquid found in young, green coconuts. A young coconut contains 300-400 mL of coconut water, which, as the coconut ages, will adhere to the inside of the coconut to form coconut meat.

2. Green coconuts?

Ans: Yes. When coconuts are very young, their outer husk is a bright green color. If you've seen typical images of brown hairy coconuts with a thick layer of white coconut meat inside, you've been looking at an older coconut.

3. Is coconut water the same as coconut milk?

Ans: No, coconut water is different from coconut milk. Jax Coco is clear, not white in color; it's refreshing, not sweet; Jax Coco has zero fat, whereas coconut milk contains fat. Coconut water is high in electrolytes, minerals, with a small amount of sugar and no fat or protein. A cup of coconut water has 0g of fat, 6g of sugar and 2g of protein. In contrast, coconut milk is high in fat and protein with some sugar, e.g. a cup of coconut milk contains 57g of fat, 8g of sugar and 5g of protein.

4. What differentiates Jax Coco from other coconut water brands? What is so special about it?

Ans: Jax Coco is 100% pure coconut water sourced from the Philippines, and is the world’s first pure coconut water to be packaged in stylish glass bottles designed by Alasdhair Willis. Using a micro-filtering process to ensure a smooth taste, Jax Coco offers an innovative interpretation of a drink that has been consumed for centuries.

5. How much water is in a coconut?

Ans: You clearly didn't read the answer to the first question! A young coconut contains between 300 and 400 mL of coconut water, depending on age and the variety of coconut.

6. Does coconut water contain gluten?

Ans: Coconut water is gluten-free!

7. Is coconut water safe for pregnant women?

Ans: Absolutely, and it can be quite helpful. It is not uncommon for pregnant woman to experience certain discomforts during pregnancy. One of the more common issues is being prone to urinary tract infection or UTI. Keeping hydrated during pregnancy helps prevent exhaustion, constipation and heartburn.

8. Is it safe for my baby/toddler to drink coconut water?

Ans: As soon as the baby is eating solid foods it’s ok to give coconut water. Before that the baby is getting all of his or her required liquids from breastmilk or formula. Coconut water is a nourishing beverage suitable for your child. Tender coconut water is a rich source of nutrients: it is high in electrolytes, chlorides, potassium, and magnesium and has a moderate amount of sugar, sodium and protein. Coconut water is also a good source of dietary fibre, manganese, calcium, riboflavin and vitamin C. Children often love the taste of coconut water as it is subtly sweet.

9. How much Jax Coco can you have in one day?

Ans: We love coconut water because it’s a great way to stay healthy and hydrated. But we also advise moderation in all things, including coconut water consumption. Since coconut water contains a substantial amount of potassium, the dietary guidelines for potassium are a good starting point for coconut water consumption. The recommended daily allowance of potassium for adults is 2,000 mg, which is roughly equivalent to four 330 mL TetraPaks Jax Coco (each of which contains 447 mg of potassium). Individual intake will vary according to body type, fitness level, et c.

sustainability

Jax Coco works with its coconut growers and the Philippines Coconut Association to develop long-term purchasing arrangements that benefit growers by offering above-market prices, and that benefit the environment by encourage responsible stewardship of coconut plantations. The Philippines faces a problem with aging coconut trees that no longer produce coconuts -- our efforts help to ensure that growers have the funding necessary to replant and maintain the vitality of their groves.
